About
In October 2019, Project Purple Light hosted its first community engagement event at the Urban Country Tea House in Detroit's Brightmoor Community.

The event was attended by Domestic Violence advocates and representatives from local shelters, Interim House (Detroit), HAVEN (Oakland County), and Turning Point(Macomb County).

Also in attendance were Zonta Club ( Detroit) Lakeshore Legal Aid and a host of mental health professionals, faith-based community members, hospital professionals, and residents from the surrounding Community.

During the event, Project Purple Light collected personal hygiene products to be given to each of the shelter representatives.

Attendees shared resources regarding shelters available throughout the Tri-County area, legal representation for victims and survivors of Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence, and testimonials.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
Project Purple Light will shed light on the many facets of Domestic Violence, with emphasis on the month of October, which is Domestic Violence month.
A Purple Light bulb will be given to all participants to display publicly throughout their communities and municipalities as a show of support for victims of domestic violence.
It is a memorial on behalf of the fatalities of domestic violence and a show of support for victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Our Vision
The Vision of Project Purple Light is to obtain and distribute purple light bulbs to attendees, during our annual Project Purple Light (October) Community Event, to display on their front porches, homes, businesses, places of worship, schools, colleges, universities, institutions, and domestic violence shelters during the month of October as a show of community support and collaboration.
Also, having heartfelt conversations, and creating "Think Tanks" to significantly reduce incidents of Domestic Violence in our community and beyond.
